Has Anyone Used This Duo Stroller And Car Seat?
March 22010
I'm thinking about getting the Graco Quattro Duo travel system for my 16 month old and next baby due in Feb. All the reviews I've read were pretty good. does anyone have any experience w/ this stroller system?
I have not used this particular double stroller, but I do have the Graco Quatro Tour Deluxe and I absolutely LOVE this system. I can not compare it to the double, though, as of course they are significantly different.
In the past, I have used double strollers. The side by side version are difficult to get through some doorways and impossible to navigate through stores such as Wal Mart, Babies R Us, JC Penney (between the racks). The strollers where they sit one in front of the other are still impossible to navigate int he stores, as they will fit but they are so difficult to turn that it is not practical. Also, if you drive a car rather than a van I would suggest that you visit Babies R Us and have an employee escort you to the car with the display model, and try fitting it in your trunk. We had a car rather than van when the older two were younger, and the strollers did not fit. If you ask real nice, and pull up to the door, they should accomodate your request.
I would suggest you consider a Sit & Stand type stroller, where the infant can sit/recline and there is a bench seat and standing platform for the older child or you can get just about any regular stroller and attach a "buggy board" to the back, which can fold up when not being used but give the older child a place to hang out-some are big enough for a small child to sit indian style on. Of course, these do not allow the older child to nap in the stroller, etc. so depending on your needs it might not work for you.
Yet another suggestion is to purchase two independent strollers, and use these clips they make to connect them. This way, you could easily use just one when your only child wants to walk, or if someone else is with you then each person can push one stroller. If you were out alone, you could clip them together and use the two strollers like one (side by side). Babies R Us sells these as well, if you want to try them out in the store. This would also keep you from having a big, bulky stroller that yo do not need once your child is independently walking but your younger one still needs a stroller.
I have a daughter turning one this month (my older two are 10 and 8-29 months apart) and if I had another baby right now, I would be looking for a stroller I recently saw. It looked like a regular stroller, but there was an infant seat on the back, near the basket area. I do not know if I would choose this model, but it was interesting and I would find it worth looking into further.
I hope this helps, and wish you the best! Again, I have not used the model you ask about, but I have the single version and I am absolutely IN LOVE with it!

I do not, but I will tell you my input. I did not like the tandem strollers, more I HATED them. I found they were big and bulky, and harder to maneuver. And I did not like the fact that a friend of mine her toddler would stick his head out from the side, and kick the seat in front on him.
So I went with a side-by-side, and absolutely loved it. The one I went with was so easy to maneuver, was pretty light weight, and was a little smaller than a standard doorway. I also liked that my children were next to each other, and both in arms reach from above, or if I went around to the front of the stroller, they were both right there.
