Buying Infant Seat..?
March 92010
Hello all.. my daughter is due 2.20 and I want to buy her car seat..
I am looking into Graco snug ride..
My question is should I buy the travel system (seat and stroller) or just the seat for now?
I don't think that it is discounted when bought together but im not sure because I cant find the stroller on walmart.com to compare the car seat price to the stroller price compared to travel system
The reason I ask is because I have been trying to buy something every pay check for the baby but this is the first big thing. And I didnt want to waste the extra 90-100 bucks if the stroller could wait
Well the stroller CAN wait if necessary. But it is really convenient when you are out shopping or going anywhere where you will have to lug the carrier around. Those things are heavy! And if you don't have any upper body strength like myself, then you will be grateful you spent the extra money.

well my thought is you should just buy both together.. you are going to need them both so there really is no reason to wait…

You probably won’t find the stroller separate. Buy them both together it will be cheaper then buying the car seat and then a different stroller.

Get both together…the seat becomes really heavy and when you go to the store etc you will want to pop it onto the stroller. Much easier than carrying it around! I had the Snugride and it worked well for us.

If you really want to save cash. Get a convertible seat instead of the infant seat. Most babies outgrow infant seats in a matter of months and still need to be rear facing. So save your money and get a convertible seat and an baby carrier such as a sling, wrap, or mei tai. Try going grocery shopping while pushing a stroller and a shopping cart at the same time and you’ll see how much of a pain in the but strollers really are.
