Getting Ready For A New Bub
April 22010
The whole nine months of a pregnancy you are playing a waiting game. Waiting because you are excited about finally meeting your baby and waiting anxiously to see that everything is in good condition and the baby is healthy. The wait can be awful as your mommy instincts are already present without actually having the bub right in front of you to look after.
Another reason that shopping for baby stuff is so appealing to women is that all the baby gear is just so cute. Have you ever seen Disney baby bedding? Or how about the tiny little shoes that you can get for babies? Seriously there is nothing cuter than baby stuff.
If you had endless resources you could spend an incredible amount of money on your baby preparation. Some items you will definitely need, but there are others that are not necessary. It might be a good idea if you are on a fixed income to adopt a wait and see attitude to some of the possible outlays. Save the money for other things you might need when the baby comes along or further into the future.
One of the most important things to have ready before baby is born is a crib. You should get a convertible baby crib white, because then it does not matter what gender the baby comes out as, or what sex future babies might be. A convertible one will see them through from infancy to until the get a big kid bed.
To go with the crib you will need to get a good bedding collection happening as well as a mattress - unless the crib actually comes with one. Babies do a lot of vomiting, peeing and pooping. So for that reason you will need lots of sheets and blankets to keep up with demand.
Several other items might be found useful, but you can wait to buy them as they might be an expense that you do not need. They include a diaper changing table, rocker, baby sling and other bits and pieces. A safe and secure baby seat for the car and an easy to move pram are also essential items to have on hand.
Getting prepared for your new baby is fun and exciting. There is always a lot to think about and a long list of items that you can buy in preparation. While you should ensure that you have the basic necessities before your baby is born, you can hold off on other items to see if you really need them before you spend the money on them.
