Should I Just Buy The Stroller?

August 232010

Okay, so pretty much, when I went to go buy all the furniture for the baby (i'm currently 39 weeks pregnant), I saw a stroller that I wanted, and my boyfriend did not want to buy it because he said he did not want to push around a pink stroller. Anyways, we ended up getting a cheap $100 cosco stroller that I absolutely hate. I keep on looking back on that stroller that I wanted, and it seems like I want it more and more everyday. I keep on looking back at it on the babies r us website. It's the elyse travel system by graco. I'm starting to think that I should just buy it because I think it would bring me great happiness, and we will just have 2 strollers. We also just got a coupon for $100 off that exact stroller, plus I checked the web site and this stroller has gotten TONS of good reviews, and it was even rated in a magazine that I was reading as one of the top 12 strollers. I currently have about $2000 in my bank account, I do not work, my parent's send me $500 a month on top of what my boyfriend makes. My mom said that once I run out of money in the bank she will send me another $2500, but I really really want this money to last me another 4 months. Although, I think that this purchase will bring me a great satisfaction because of how desperate I am for this stupid stroller. Can I please have some advice on what would be best to do from someone who is more experienced? This is my first child.

From a practical point of view, that pretty pink stroller will get dirty quickly if you're going to be taking the baby on a lot of outings. I have three kids, the oldest is 18 (wow!). My collapsible navy blue Chicco stroller held up from kid#1 to kid#3. The navy doesn't show the dirt as much. I'm sure your baby will spill formula, or food or have a diaper leak eventually in that pink stroller. I'm fairly certain that it'll be hard to keep clean.

It just wouldn't be my first choice (and I have a daughter!).

Think of all the awesome outfits you can buy for your daughter with that money. Better yet, you'll probably be getting a lot of baby clothes as presents so you can bank that money for her..even better!

At week 39, you're right down to the wire and I'm sure your emotions have a lot to do with the pink stroller obsession. It's very cute actually...I'm not trying to sound patronizing!

I hope this helped. Lots of luck to you!!!

You didn’t brag enough in your paragraph. Could you please edit it and brag more, possibly with how much your boyfriend makes, or how much the stroller costs, or how much the furniture that you bought cost?

Honestly I would buy something that can be used several times..pick a neuteral color so if you have a second child and ends up being a boy you don’t have to go out and buy urself a whole new stroller…think ahead not in the what hot now.

Well no offence or anything but you sound like a spoiled brat who isn’t really ready for a baby. Your mom just sends you money when you choose to waste it on a stroller that you obviously don’t need since you already have a perfectly fine one. (just because it isn’t pink doesn’t mean that it doesn’t do the job)

I would recommend saving your money and when your mom goes to send you more money tell her that you think you are ready to be a big girl now and you can take care of your daughter by yourself. And that you want to be able to say that you CAN do it by yourself.
