Question on travel system stroller?

I was under the understanding that the travel systems (car seat & stroller combo) was convenient for the first year as you can just lock the car seat in and out to the stroller. Am I correct? It is used as a car seat then you can take it out and hook it in the stroller so you don't have to take the baby out?
Also, after the baby grows out of that car seat can you still use the stroller as your full size stroller?

I am trying to figure out if I need a big stroller if I register for the combo set I don't think I will. So would you say just the travel system and umbrella stroller would be good? Thanks...

Yes, the travel system should be all that you need. An umbrella stroller is good for your basic every day things when your baby gets bigger. It's easy to transport and fold and is super light weight. BUT, you can just use the travel system stroller for your regular every day stroller as well. The travel system is an option feature. There is regular seating for when the child gets bigger.
