Im Looking For A Compact Stroller.. What Kind Do You Have?

March 52010

I have been looking at the Combi and Peg Perego strollers, but their arnt many reviews online and i cant find a store near me to go try em out.. Or can someone tell me what stores they sell these 2 brands at? Im looking for something small to manuever while shopping but not as small as a cheap umbrella stroller? Can anybody help me? Whar do you have or what do you reccomend?

We have used two different strollers over the years. For toddlers we love the Peg Perego Aria because it is lightweight, folds up well, has a kid friendly tray for snacks/drinks, and is rated to 45 lbs (I think). The latch for the tray on our original one broke after about 2 years, but we were traveling a lot at that time, and I guess we took one airplane trip too many. The cup in the tray can sometimes pop out, so if you travel you need to keep an eye on that. If you take it out, though, you risk the tray getting cracked. Fortunately you can buy replacement trays from Peg Perego. When we had our second child we looked around at strollers again, and still liked the Peg Perego best. For older children (3 and up) we prefer the MacLaren. They are very pricey, but extremely lightweight (under 10 lbs), also folds up well, and is rated to 55 lbs. We've had ours for 2 years now, have taken it to Europe, NY, and Maui, and it has survived traveling very well. It is more of an umbrella stroller, but very roomy (important for us, as our daughter is consistently 97th percentile height). It doesn't have a snack tray. My only other complaint with the MacLaren is that the storage underneath is a bit awkward to access (narrow opening).
